MY STORY
Welcome to the Bajan Shakk my friends, where we are all about creating “good times”.
I am Chef Lennox Hunte, but you can call me Chef Lox.
My culinary career started early watching and being inspired by my mom’ s love and respect for the quality and tradition of her Barbadian roots. She loved to cook and share our traditions everywhere we lived; Egypt, Paris, Miami, and Montreal. She had the keen natural ability to fuse the cultures together bringing a unique taste, style, and deliciousness to every meal.
It was a natural progression for me to be drawn into the kitchen and I made my culinary debut after graduating from one of the top culinary schools in Toronto Canada, George Brown College.
I apprenticed in Toronto at Movenpick Restaurant, a Swiss-style up-tempo eatery under Chef Peter Tippman, after which I then worked my way up the kitchen brigade, training under JP Chalet, one of Frances top international chefs; at the Windsor Arms Hotel, The Fifth Restaurant, and Bouchon, which were all rated Toronto’s Top fine dining establishments.
My training is French Mediterranean, to which I have incorporated my love of Italian and Asian food, with, of course, my very own West Indian twist to things.
In 2001 I returned to Barbados to work at the world famous Sandy Lane Hotel, La Mer Restaurant, and The Crane Beach Hotel. After working for these establishments, I decided to pursue my dream of being my own boss as a Personal Chef, creating culinary delights for persons both living in and visiting Barbados who wanted top restaurant quality food, excellent service, combined with the convenience of dining at home.
I prepare and serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner. All the shopping for these meals will be completed by myself to ensure the quantity and quality are as they should be.
I am now residing in Toronto and I have had such a high demand for my services that I have now decided to take it on the road–to a festival near you.
I introduce to you, the Bajan Shakk!
